Increased security; historical integrity
Physical Security is the leading retrofit contractor in the United States for the removal and replacement or re-glazing the exterior skins of existing, occupied buildings. This includes replicating historic windows in blast-resistant bronze or steel when required. We also reinforce non-window areas of buildings to make them blast resistant as well. Our major retrofit projects include the Pentagon, prior to the 9/11 attack, and the Sears Tower in Chicago.
In each project, the safety of the buildings’ occupants, extraordinary performance characteristics and the aesthetic or historic demands of the architectural design created unique challenges beyond the capabilities of other companies. Physical Security met the challenge because we are an affiliate of the only single-source provider in the United States of complete exterior cladding systems, both commercial and blast resistant.
Unique facilities and the trust of the government
We operate a 60,000 square foot custom curtainwall and window manufacturing plant, a certified mock-up testing chamber with its own steel fabrication and assembly facilities. We are capable of high-volume production, maintaining the tight tolerances required of blast resistant products and support systems, to give customers lower pricing and innovative quality that job shops cannot match.
Physical Security is more than a manufacturing concern. We design, fabricate, assemble and install. Our personnel and facilities have top-secret security clearances with the departments of State and Defense, along with a host of other agencies under the national industrial security program.
We assist building owners and architects with preliminary designs, budgeting, design and construction feasibility, product and material selection and complete building envelope installation of and/or interface with metal panel systems, masonry, stone and precast.
